In the EU elections, we have 27 ways to elect 1 Parliament.

EU Citizens from different countries face different voting systems, different thresholds, different voting ages, and different voting laws. How can European elections be fair unless they are equal?

One European Vote

Here is how we want to make European elections more transparent, more equal and fairer.

  1. Giving Europeans a single, European vote

Our primary goal is to create a single, unified European election with the same rules and opportunities for every European citizen no matter where they live.

2. Make voting easier & more inclusive!

Increase possibilities to cast your vote by mail, by proxy, from abroad or even electronically

Give 16-year old Europeans the right to vote

Increase accessibility to voting booths for people with disabilities

Allow people without homes or permanent residence to vote

Designate May 9th as an official European voting holiday

3. Elections should be fair!

Ensure that our elections are gender-balanced

Establish a democratic code of conduct for political parties when selecting their candidates

Create a level playing field for political parties to increase political innovation & competition

4. Demand accountability!

Limit how much can be spent by campaigns

Common rules for campaign ads and propaganda

Limit campaign contributions, and make them public

Unified laws for electing European Politicians

Democracy is fragile. It is not a state we achieve, but a series of victories won by each generation.

Universal suffrage wasn’t just handed over to those who fought for it over the last centuries, and we are still fighting today for fair elections in many countries. The work isn’t over until we truly have equal elections in Europe. It’s time for us to make a new push towards an evolved, modern democracy.
